About the Center of International Affairs (CIA) Center for International Affairs (CIA) was founded in August 2005. Ever since Dr. Jong-Tsun Huang took the position as the university's new president, the establishment of CIA has been one of the fundamental goals in the educational and research development strategy. China Medical University commits to focus on national and international collaboration in teaching and research where disciplines such as integrated medicine, pharmaceutical, laboratory and clinical sciences are emphasized to address the current issues of health. Support of life-long learning and promotion of student-centered, self-directed learning is the foundation of our pedagogic philosophy, providing a central force for the development of health professionals based on humanity and humility. An innovative attitude has been supported to accelerate our pace for internationalization and digitization. The main purpose of establishment of CIA includes the definite goal of driving our university into becoming an internationally renowned institution and, at the same time, increasing the opportunities for international academic exchange of both students and teachers. Starting from 2005, the CIA will take on the responsibilities of handling international academic exchange affairs and executing applicable policies for international exchange students.
